France Travel Guide For First Time Visitors!

The moment France is heard, only one name strikes to mind, PARIS. Agreed, Paris is the most beautiful and visited the city of France but then the country has much more to offer. The country has unexplored beautiful landscapes, glorious mountains, and beautiful beaches. Before you apply for your France tourist visa and book on your France tour package, do read this blog, it will help you at many ends.

Best time to visit France:

The best time to visit France is the time period from April to June and from September to November. The peak winter months are very cold and grey.

Places to roam in France:

Located in the northern-central area of the country, Paris is the hot-favorite destination of tourists. There are best luxury hotels (you can interlink here), night clubs, Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Cathedrals, Disneyland and many other palatial beauties.

But beyond all these tourist attractions, towards the south-eastern side, France is home to the famous French Riviera., pastoral fields of Provence and the beautiful Verdon George.

On the Northern side, Brittany and Normandy, especially with their wild, dramatic coastline, thick forests and medieval towns, will altogether change your impression of the country.

Also, the French Alps is one major playground for people who love skiing. Rest, throughout the country, you can spot regal castles, ancient ruins, and wonderful vineyards. For some world-class art shopping, France is the right place.

French is the major language here but still, in large cities like Paris, you will find people speaking fluent English. The common phrases in France which one must know are:

bonjour (good day)

pardon (pardon me)

merci (thank you)

au revoir (goodbye) and

s’il Vous plait (please)

Euro is all you need to spend here. The exchange rates at the airport are terrible and the ATMs will take a heavy fee. Therefore, we suggest asking your bank back home if they have some partner here in France so that you can get Euros easily.

The public transportation system in France is fabulous. It mainly comprises of the metro, buses, and overground trams. It is very cheap to travel in one of these modes and once you understand the route map, traveling here is not a tough job at all. Other options to travel across the country are flights, trains, buses, taxis, and rented cars.

Food culture:

French wine is famous all over the world. Of course, French food holds no less. Some of the classic dishes include duck confit, chicken cooked in wine, crepes, mussels with fries, quiche and croissants. The restaurants are generally open at about 7 p.m. for dinner. The cafes run a little longer than restaurants. When eating at some high-end places, do not forget to tip.

Sightseeing tips:

When in France, do check for sightseeing passes or comb-tickets deal. For example- the Paris Museum pass entitles you to visit the Louvre, Orsay, Sainte-Chapelle church and the Palace of Versailles. With this pass, you can skip the queue at most of the places. Also, it is advisable to buy a ticket for Eiffel Tower well in advance of your trip.

Schedule in France:

In small towns of France, the shops, banks, and businesses close for 2 hours for lunch. In remote areas, this break can even last for 3 hours, i.e. from 1 to 4 P.M.

Pickpocketing is a major issue in Paris. The highly crowded areas like public transportation and tourist attractions are the prime areas for theft. So, be careful, keep your money in zipped pockets and close to your body. Always keep in mind that once your valuable items are robbed in this country, it is highly doubtful for you to get them again.

France visa UK requirements:

The process of obtaining France Schengen visa is not a difficult task at all. All you need is an expert agent who can guide you on the documents required and compile them in a right way.
